Objective
This project's objective was to create a hypothetical brand for a library of the 21st century. I chose the theme/focus of the library to be all about botany. Key aspects of this project included designing a logo, brand elements (such as colors, typefaces, icons, etc.), a strong mission statement, and a way-finding system.
Role
I worked on this assignment independently with feedback from my instructor and classmates.
Outcome
I began developing Boteco’s brand identity by researching botanical forms, words, quotes, and other inspiring factors of botany. The shapes of the icons and symbols are inspired by the curving, imperfect forms of plant life. The choice of the primary typeface (Bree) also reflects these forms. The color scheme is derived from multiple botanical species and reflects the wide range of colors we see in plants.
